A good friend of mine told me that today, 14th of September, Matt will be dancing in Manchester. If you want to appear on Youtube and show the world your dancing skills, you should join him.

I think what he started is great. Something as simple as a bad dance turned out to be a very good idea. His viral videos received widespread coverage of his travel exploits. Matt has been in brand Conventions, got parodies and responses. He was even hired by Visa to star in their Travel Happy campaign. In addition, he started a website where you can follow the whole story and trips.

Matt first began filming himself in 2005 while traveling in Vietnam with a friend. They were standing around taking pictures in Hanoi, and his friend said “Hey, why don’t you stand over there and do that dance. I’ll record it.” He was referring to a particular dance Matt does. It’s actually the only dance Matt does.

Moral of the day: Keep looking better, cookies are not sometimes kept in that jar on top of the cupboard and ideas are not usually hidden, they keep standing in front of us.
